List All Possible Number Combinations

Muriel Barbery - Ecstasy culinary

The author had me excited with his Elegance of the Hedgehog , so I bought this book also, perhaps dreaming of a 'other literary magic. Unfortunately it was not the case. Although the novel is very well written, so that only a writer can make educated and intelligent, the plot is all geared on food and pleasure that this leads to the senses, the search for the primordial taste, the tales of a man who works as a restaurant critic who lives and that and only that.
storyline difficult for me, however I consider the quality of essential food to live, but I am a woman who eats to live and not living to eat, and that does not appreciate, unfortunately, too much in this. I do not like people who always thinks of eating food and those who idolizes not wait to try more new restaurants. Are not made for these things and therefore I could not appreciate the book, as perhaps other hand, those who enjoy the pursuit of pleasure in every food that tastes, can do.

The story is about an old man on his deathbed, telling his life since he was a baby boy and who has always rotated in the pleasure of food. The novel is divided into chapters in which each voice is different, and speak well of him, are all the people who have crossed in some way his life. Relatives, friends, lovers, even animals, who hate him and despise him, and find themselves on the day of his death to be almost happy that finally has arrived. The man is described as a person without feelings, a great traveler thanks to his work, a completely absent father, with a wife and children that did not loved and who loved have always suffered from the lack of it, with a host of young lovers and always beautiful, but still handled by casual fans, and a wife who has been waiting for, has always suffered, and even on his deathbed, he continues to love him in spite of the his indifference. A man who had to choose to be alone and not to be so incapable of loving a family, and that he should not behave in a standard way does not make anyone suffer. A man described through the eyes of a woman who has obviously suffered a lot of love, throughout his life. No mercy for those who make mistakes, no awareness that we are not all equal, a continual disregard for their own selfish suffering without taking any account of the feelings of a man who, although not perfect, is dying. A man who cares about everyone and everything except himself, and his food, which is the only one able to bring to prove the only emotion that's worth living: ecstasy.
An emotional journey too weak, but I am glad I read before The elegance of the hedgehog, because if I had read this book first, I considered the author too frivolous, banal and emotionally selfish to only think of a deal Another of his novels. You can only live for the pleasure it gives food? Evidently. People make mistakes and everyone is different. It's not fair to judge him nor human for that. Especially if it is not able to love nobody, not even himself.
The council then? No, absolutely not.

"that based on the common feeling is magical and masterful breaks pathetically at the foot of the heights of genius"
"the calvary is not let those who love you, but get away from those who do not love you "
is amazing how much can change in just one day"
